Found & Lost

Directed by Reza Rasouli (2025)

Found & Lost follows Tamim, a Syrian father in Vienna, who finds a lost wallet in the nightclub he works at and tries to return it. What starts as a simple, well-intentioned act slowly turns into a chain of misunderstandings and moral dilemmas. In the end the film leaves viewers questioning what lesson should be learned.

The film has a poetic quality to it, built around symmetry and rhythm, reinforced by the soundtrack. The camera stays handheld and close to Tamim throughout, structured as a series of long takes.

Shooting in a real club environment with a large number of extras introduced a level of complexity that required precise staging and blocking, while leaving room for the unpredictability that makes the space feel alive. The shoot was physically demanding, particularly for the lead actor, which feeds directly into the intensity of his performance.

The film premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival, won the Audience Award at the Trieste Film Festival, and will screen at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2026.
